25 Before 25

My 25 Before 25 Bucket List

It’s been a little bit over a month since my 24th birthday, and I’m grateful for all of your suggestions about what I can put on my 25 Before 25 bucket list! It took me a whole month to choose 25 things that I should do in the next 12 months – and now I’ve only got 11 months to do it all – which means I’ve got to do about two per month! I wanted to quickly share with you guys what’s on my bucket list, because you know I’m a firm believer of accountability, but also to inspire anyone looking to create a bucket list for an upcoming birthday, or for 2015. I’ve organized them on a Pinterest board just to have a visual reminder for myself, but I’ll be sharing them on Instagram & Facebook as I complete them. So in no particular order, here goes my 25 Before 25 Bucket list!

25 Before 25

  1. Read through the entire bible {I’m using A Woman’s Guide to Reading the Bible in a Year: A Life-Changing Journey Into the Heart of God, and so far, I’m behind, but there’s always the good ole weekend catch up!}

  2. Travel internationally by myself {I’m thinking of Morocco!}

  3. Make a financial investment

  4. Go on a cruise to the Caribbean

  5. Relearn French to fluency {je peux le parler un petit peu}

  6. Get a flat stomach {by eating clean and working out}

  7. See the Lion King on Broadway

  8. Do something terrifying involving heights: {i.e. zip lining, parasailing, bungee jumping, trapeze, or skydiving}

  9. Volunteer with a cause completely unrelated to me

  10. Attend a music festival {Likely Essence!}

  11. Take a pole dancing class {to help with #6}

  12. Learn to cook jollof rice

  13. Learn to cook a Nigerian soup that isn’t okra {though okra is unequivocally the best and only necessary kind}

  14. Get the haircut of my dreams {likely for my 5 year nappiversary}

  15. Eat at a Michelin rated restaurant

  16. Go on a helicopter ride

  17. Achieve a forearm stand in yoga

  18. See Cirque du Soleil

  19. Go on a worship/women’s conference

  20. Kiss someone I love on New Year’s

  21. Pass my PhD qualifying exams

  22. Run a 10K {I ran a 5K in August, so I’m halfway there!}

  23. Do something alone {ie. movies, pottery/painting/cooking class}

  24. Open up a retirement account

  25. Donate $250 to a charity of choice.

Honorable mention: Have a FABULOUS (surprise) 25th birthday. Had to put that one out there for all the people close to me to begin putting together. I’m talking yacht fabulous. #kthanksbye

Which item from my 25 Before 25 bucket list would you like to do for yourself? Do you set goals for your birthdays?

  1. What a great list. I always go to the movies by myself! Sometimes I don’t have the patience to wait on people to go with me. Travelling alone internationally sounds so dope and peacefully as well as scary.
