The Natural Hair Bride Box is a subscription service for women with natural hair who are soon to be married, that contains products, accessories, and gifts to help you look and feel your best on your wedding day! Here’s what’s in the August box, plus a tutorial of how I created this bridal roll, tuck, and pin updo.
African Pride Olive Oil Miracle 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner + Miracle Leave in Conditioner
I was a bit disappointed in this box’s hair products since I couldn’t use either of them on my hair. Dear African Pride – nobody uses sulfates in shampoos anymore, get with the program! The leave in conditioner also contains mineral oil and parabens, so that was a no go for me.
Crystal & Pearl Earring & Necklace Set
The accessories in this box definitely made up for the quality of the hair products – this crystal and pearl earring and necklace set were absolutely stunning! Pearls compliment lace well, so I can definitely see myself rocking this set either with my wedding dress or with one of my lace Nigerian outfits for the traditional wedding.
Natural Annie Essentials Lip Scrub in Mai Tai Punch + Chapstick in Island Vibes
This was my second favorite set in the box, but the Natural Annie Essentials Lip Scrub and chapstick were deliciously sweet! The scents (and flavors which I probably wasn’t supposed to taste) matched up perfectly to the names, and more importantly, the scrub was super effective in smoothing out my lips.
I Said Yes Sash
I can totally see myself wearing this cute sash at my bachelorette party! There’s a good chance mine will be in the Dominican Republic where my best friend lives!
Roll, Tuck, and Pin Updo
For this month’s bridal hairstyle, I decided to do a roll, tuck, and pin with the crystal headband that came in the July box. The style is great for stretched hair, and can easily accommodate a veil or other headpiece. Skip to the 6:00 mark if you just want to see the tutorial!
Are you going to do your own hair for the wedding? Just wondering.
