We women run around day after day – working, studying, cooking, cleaning, being an all around boss and superhero – often without remembering to take care of ourselves. I’m a firm believer in self-care, so much so that I carve out time each week to either get a massage, get my nails (hands and toes!) done, do a face mask, or take a long bath. Every once in awhile I’m lucky and manage to squeeze everything into the same day!
I know most people likely use gels or body washes for bubble baths, but those products often contain chemicals, dyes, and perfumes that can cause damage to your skin. Y’all know how I feel about using hair and beauty products that are as natural as possible. Though the research on the effects of chemicals is a bit murky, I’d rather be safe than sorry! I have extremely dry skin, and as I get older (ha!) it’s gotten more sensitive to everything – fabrics, bug bites, even the sun. So I’ve been on the hunt for a bath soap that passes my ingredient checklist and doesn’t dry out my skin.
Ivory bar soap is 99.44% pure – so pure it floats in water (which is helpful so you can’t lose it while lathering up)! It’s also paraben-free, pH balanced, and free of dyes and perfumes, making it a great soap for sensitive skin, ingredient-conscious people, and even kids. It’s a great product that works for the whole family!
To get the relaxing and fragrant effect of bubble baths without all the nasty chemicals, I lit a candle and added cream roses and white daisies to my Ivory Soap bath. Y’all. Best 20 minutes of my week. I might need to make this a weekly ritual!
And now through June 30, there is an amazing sale at Family Dollar on the Ivory 21 oz. Body Wash (Original and Aloe) and the Ivory 8-Bar Original Soap! Family Dollar is a great place to find high-quality beauty buys at affordable prices. I just did a huge L.A. Colors makeup haul & tutorial from Family Dollar as well!

Ivory soap was my favorite back in the day. I have ordered organic paraben soap from hair company but I haven’t used them because I am a fan of showers.
You can still use bar soap to shower!
