Last week in the midst of unpacking, I received the July Natural Hair Bride Box and this week had the chance to see what was inside! As a reminder, the Natural Hair Bride Box is a subscription service for women with natural hair who are soon to be married, that contains products, accessories, and gifts to help you look and feel your best on your wedding day! Here’s what’s in the July Box:
Journey Journal + “I’m Drawn to You” Pencil
This cute journal has prompts related to your love story that you can fill out with your fiancé! It would be a fun stay at home date night activity – because you know you need an excuse not to do your seating charts! The pencil has a cute message to make the journal a bit more fun.
Leila Inc Detangle Brush & Black Satin Pillowcase
For those who use brushes and combs to detangle their hair (I don’t anymore), it’s important to use brushes without any plastic bulbs at the bottom of the bristles, which unnecessarily stress your hair. The Leila Inc detangle brush has flexible bristles that glide through your hair more easily than say, a Denman Brush. The satin pillowcase (which you should already have, side eye) is a MUST for preserving hairstyles and well as the health of our natural hair. Satin pillowcases are also gentler on our skin, so you can amp up your beauty rest!
ORS Olive Oil Hues Hair Color + Hair Gels
ORS has a new olive oil based color system with Jet Black, Cocoa Brown, Raging Red, Honey Blonde, and Light Golden Blonde. I didn’t use this on my hair (I’ve got enough hair color!) but I do think that hair color is a great way to spice your bridal hairstyle. If you don’t want to risk coloring your own hair, you can color clip ins and add it to your style!
The box also included samples of the Olive Oil 12-n-1 Style Defining Créme Gel and the Olive Oil With Pequi Oil Smooth & Easy Edges Hair Gel. I used the 12 in 1 on the outer edges of my hair and the edge gel to help achieve my chignon.
Crystal Hair Accessory
The most “bridal” thing in the box was a crystal accessory that could be used as a crown or headband to add your sparkle to your bridal natural hairstyle. I used mine as a headband on a low chignon bun, but I plan to use it as a crown sometime next week and will share those pictures too!
For an in-depth unboxing and tutorial of my low bun, check out my YouTube video below.
