Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful. There are a ton of details to coordinate, a handful of opinions and personalities to please, plus a whole lotta cash leaving your bank account! The last thing you want to have to think about is your hair, which is why I’m sharing four easy bridal natural hairstyles for you to try for the various events culminating in your marriage – the bridal shower, bachelorette, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. All these looks use a bit of help from KinkyCurlyYaki, my go to place for human hair extensions that perfectly match my super kinky hair. Obviously, you don’t have to be a bride to rock these hairstyles, but now that I’m on the other side, I’m sympathizing with my fellow wedding planning boos!
Romantic Bridal Shower Bob
Bridal showers are usually the first of the wedding events (unless you had an engagement party), so it’s a perfect time to begin experimenting with looks you might want to try for your wedding. Start with KinkyCurlyYaki’s 16 inch lacefront Afro Coily wig, and color to match your hair if desired (I used this color to dye mine). Set the wig on a mannequin head and then blow dry the hair with a good heat protectant. Then, create large bantu knots using a foaming mousse for a light but moveable hold. Let dry, then pull the curls apart, and put on your wig, conceal the lace, and add a pretty hair accessory to complete your look!
Flirty Bachelorette Updo
Turn up, turn up! If your home girls take you out to shake your bum bum, you’ll want a hairstyle that will stay in place (unlike this girl!) but still command attention. Start with your hair in a high bun or puff, sleeking down your edges if desired. Take a KinkyCurlyYaki u-part Afro Coily wig and place it on top of and around the bun/puff, taking special care to overlap the u-part by pinning it securely down. Then, section off a 3 inch piece to use a bang, and clip it away for later. With the remaining hair, do 6-8 VERY loose twists, and then pin them around the base of your bun, covering up any exposed sections. Don’t be shy with the bobby pins, more is definitely better! Finally, bring down your “bang” and style as desired. Top it off with a tiara or headband to let everyone know it’s your last fling!
Classy Rehearsal Dinner Twists
Since your rehearsal dinner is often the night before your wedding, you probably will be SO over the whole thing – or super anxious – that you won’t have patience to do a hairstyle on your own. Treat yourself to a nice shampoo, deep condition, and scalp massage at a local hair salon to prep your hair for the big day (I went to Lisa Bailey at The Box Hair Studio!). Bring along some KinkyCurlyYaki Afro Coily clip ins (colored to match your hair if desired), and have your stylist strategically clip in the pieces in between your stretched hair from the ears down. Then, do 8-10 super chunky flat twists from your crown down to your nape, and slightly pull the twists apart to create volume and camouflage the clips. Tuck your ends under, and enjoy your last single night!
Regal Wedding Style
To create a regal half-updo, completely undo your flat twists done with KinkyCurlyYaki Afro Coily clip ins the night before. Or, if starting without them, section your hair in two, ear to ear, with 1/3 in the front and 2/3 in the back. Create loose flat and two strand twists by beginning your twist halfway down the section, leaving volume at the roots. Pin the twists in the middle of your crown. Style the bottom section of hair as desired, either leaving the textured twistout, or by adding wand curls for a curlier look.
And there folks, is how I used KinkyCurlyYaki to help me create four easy natural hairstyles for all my wedding festivities! The best thing about all these styles is that they can be achieved all on your own, but if you want to pamper yourself and reduce stress (highly recommended!), I suggest bringing on a stylist to help you create at least your wedding day look.

Beautiful styles – you looked amazing with each style. I’m getting some inspiration for my wedding next year. I shall be collecting these styles on my secret wedding board – pintrest 🙂
Thanks for the detailed style instructions too
No need for it to be a secret board girl, share the knowledge! Looking forward to seeing what style you choose, congrats!
Looks so good on you. I recently tried clip ins but they so uncomfortable for be; it kept tugging and pulling out hair when I took it off. Maybe I’ll try again
Oh no! For my wedding, my stylist actually did tiny cornrows and then put the clip ins into those for a sturdier hold. Turns out it was more comfortable too!
You choose a unique hairstyle for each bridal and wedding hairdo. The wig and clips in were a great idea. I love each style that you wore to each event. Leave it to you to indulge us with great ideas and stylish hairdos.
Thank you!
Homegirl know she wrong for busting out those moves without a secure wig! But shout out to her friend, tho! ? My fave for bridal/ formal will always be some sort of updo, mostly a bun. You reminded me, I’ve gotta invest in some clip-ins for some events coming up!
Bahaha! Yes get some clip ins while I look for more bun styles!
