Extreme Bedroom Transformation with Mudcloth Accent Wall

I am so excited to share with you our bedroom transformation! It took a while to pull the space together after we kicked the baby out to his own room, but I am so excited about how it turned out. The biggest change was moving the bed to the opposite wall and creating an accent feature wall — it totally transformed the room! After just a few additional updates, it’s almost complete. I’m just not sold on our rug and think a black & white one would really finish the space, but it’s ok for now!

Here’s what the bedroom looked like before we — lol, I — started transforming it:

Here’s a tour of the bedroom and a behind the scenes view on the transformation:

And here are more photos of the bedroom transformation!

Here’s where I sourced all the items (well all the new ones):

Wall Stencil: Royal Design Studio Stencils in Mali

Lamps: Workshop Nairobi

Leather Pillows: Come Home Design

Artwork: Anaya Arts

Wall Mirror: 54kibo

Floor Mirror: Ikea

Armchair: Workshop Nairobi

Shelving Unit: Ikea

What’s your favorite part about this bedroom makeover? It’s the accent wall and his & hers art for me!

  1. It’s gorgeous! The room is much airier and brighter with the bed in the new position, glad you won on that front. I love everything but mostly the African mirror and the leather pillows matching the lampshades. A labour of love.

  2. GORRRRgeous!! Love a nice airy bedroom and the mudcloth really brings everything together. Also, I’m dead at Jonathan looking SO enthused holding that lampshade! LOL
