I wouldn’t necessarily say fall is my favorite season, but I do love the last few weeks of summer that turn into fall. It’s not too hot and not too cold, I’m not yet overwhelmed with school, and my birthday is around the corner! I usually write my fall trend report at the beginning of September, but my trip to Kenya kind of threw me off. Nonetheless, here are my three favorite fall fashion trends for 2018, that I’ll be wearing for the season!
Animal Print
Now you knew this was coming so don’t act surprised, but the biggest fall trend of 2018 is animal print. Although there’s been a huge focus on leopard print, snake print is a close second. I’m trying to limit myself to one leopard print and one snake print top, but then I saw this dress and kind of want to jump all the way into the trend! If you’re still scared to try, pick up some animal print accessories like leopard print shoes or snake embossed handbags. I had a super cute pair of snake print heels a few years ago and I’m regretting handing them over to Goodwill. Hopefully someone else is enjoying them now!
Smart Suiting
I’ve always been a fan of blazers, but full on suit looks are currently trending! This is actually a carry over trend from last year, as plaid suits reigned supreme. This season, all sorts of suits work: short suits, oversized blazers with bike shorts, plaid suits, or colorful suits. I’ve also noticed a return of blazer dresses – and loved the idea! I like the sleeveless version because they can be worn in so many different ways: by itself, with a shirt underneath, or open over a pair of jeans.
Mustard & Marigold
Although I tend to stick to neutrals, every season there is one color that takes over my wardrobe. Last fall it was olive green. In the winter, it was red. Right now, I’m all about orangey yellows like mustard, marigold, and amber. I’ve already got a yellow dress you’re probably tired of seeing by now and super comfy yellow pants. I just bought a mustard suit set, and I’m looking for a mustard cropped sweater. I get so many compliments when I wear the color, and it looks amazing on brown skin! Spoiler alert: I have a feeling my winter color may be burnt orange, so enjoy the yellow while it lasts!
I’ve been noticing so many different colors. I’m liking everything I see lately. The mustard color dress is a winner. Those Prada shoes are ????. I don’t have a pair but I’m planning on buying a pair. I got to have a pair in the ??. I’m 5’8 and 3 inches is my limit in heels. I don’t want to be to to tall. You are definitely bringing it in this post.
My limit is around 3-4 inches too, I feel like my knees are getting old, haha!
