Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I spent mine with my family at my older brother’s house in upstate NY (if Elmira counts as upstate). Before I left, I shot a last minute Thanksgiving outfit with a new photographer friend (who happens to be Nigerian too!). My intention was to put this look up last week as a “what I wore on Thanksgiving” post, but I decided to take a blog & social media break for the day (and most of the weekend) and just revel in the presence of my family. Every time we get together, I remember how crazy of a bunch we are, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world!
It’s been a fairly mild fall so far, so I actually haven’t worn full on coats that many times, but I’m currently loving light grey, pastel, and camel coats. Funny how we tend to gravitate towards what we don’t already have in our closet… or is that just me? ? This Elizabeth and James boyfriend coat from Rent the Runway runs a bit big but is surprisingly warm and a perfect throw on layer over a sweater, or in this case, a sleeveless knit dress that has more than enough room for the potential holiday weight gain.
Rounding out this outfit are my two favorite accessories, my black Zara over the knee boots, and my black wool hat that literally sasses up any outfit. While I’m loving light outerwear, I’m also here for dark accessories, so this navy bucket bag by Elizabeth and James (which comes in tons of different colors on Rent the Runway) was the perfect compliment to my look.
If you haven’t yet tried Rent the Runway, they’re having a fab Cyber Monday deal with 30% off all rentals!
Hope you guys had a great weekend!

You and Tata of Mommy’s Dressing Room are seriously making me wanna invest in some OTK boots! Love. Almost purchased a similar hat in Burgundy from Target (likely the same one) but then I remembered I went there for diapers. ? Need it in my life!
Lol I just saw a Target video that this comment reminded me of… go in for one thing, leave with everything but that one thing
Grey, pastel and camel coats are everything, I feel you 😉
