Tis the season of holiday parties! Last night I attended my bootcamp‘s holiday party – I figured these ladies who sweat with me a few times a week should see me at my best. Plus there was a white elephant gift exchange which made the party even better – I lucked out with a gift card to the movies! Anyway, here’s how I got ready for last night’s holiday party.
Quick “Gift Bow” Updo
My hair was coming off a day 3 rod set using natural products from Catherine Marion (video to come soon!), but my curls were uneven – remember, I’ve been sweating it out! – so I decided to do an updo. I pulled most of my hair back in a puff and left the front section out to wear bangs. I ended up not liking how the bang was looking so I loosely pinned that back into a little hump. The curls in the puff kind of reminded me of when you wrap a present in ribbon and then curl it so it spirals – so my hairstyle was gift inspired!
Glittery & Red Makeup
It’s almost a must to wear red lipstick to a holiday party, and I chose Wander Beauty’s Lipstick in Wanderberry because it’s super pigmented. I wanted to add a ton of shimmer (when else is it appropriate to use glitter makeup?!) so I used Wet n Wild’s Color Icon glitter in Brass on my eyelids. I even added some of it on top of my highlight, in my cupid’s bow, and on the tip of my nose. And for fun I dusted a bit on top of my red lipstick!
Understated Sexy Jumpsuit and Red Heels
There are so many different looks you can wear for a holiday party (I’ll have a few more later on the blog), but for this one I decided to go with a silhouette that showed off my narrowing waistline. I’ve had this jumpsuit for a few years now (from Cache but they closed!), and the mesh top and glitzy belt are enough va va voom for a holiday party look. Since my lips were red, I brought out one of my favorite shoes. The heel on them isn’t super high, plus they kept my (unpedicured, eek!) toes nice and warm.
Because I was wearing a sleeveless black jumpsuit, the last thing I wanted was deodorant that would stain my jumpsuit or leave residue on my underarms. Right before heading out the door, I shook and sprayed Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant, which goes on instantly dry and provides 48 hours of odor and wetness protection in addition to caring for skin. It’s one thing to sweat when you’re working out, but I didn’t want to be sweating while showing off my dance moves! I’ve had bad experiences with deodorants irritating my underarms before, so the moisturizers in this paraben-free formula are perfect for my dry and sensitive skin.
I had a great time at the JCF Holiday Party, and am looking forward to slaying the rest of my upcoming holiday parties!

Thank you so much!
Cache is closed?!?! ☹️ That sucks. You look great and shout out to the narrowing waistline!!
Yeah girl they closed sometime last year… and thanks!
Looking good as usual, the jumpsuit is sexy and I can tell the boot camp is working.
Thanks hon!
