So you’re probably wondering – how dare this girl roll up on here talking about honeymoon when she hasn’t even said anything about the wedding? I know darling – but I’m still collecting my thoughts (as well as professional images) from the wedding so I’m not quite ready to share about it all yet! Just know that I’m thoroughly enjoying being Mrs. Kola 😀 Plus I still have tons of pre-wedding content that I just didn’t have time to write about – like my bachelorette and rehearsal outfits and hairstyles.
Nonetheless, I want to share about our AMAZING honeymoon stay at Zoëtry Wellness and Spa Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was our 2nd time in Jamaica – we went to Negril during spring break in college – so we chose Jamaica to commemorate that first vacation as boyfriend and girlfriend five years ago.
Zoëtry Wellness and Spa Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica is the newest Zoëtry resort in the AM Resorts family (which includes Secrets, Breathless, Dreams, Now, and Sunscape). The resort is just 15 minutes from Sangster International Airport and opened in December 2016 with 49 suites. The all-inclusive, private beachfront property has three restaurants and a beachside jerk hut (more on this later!), a peaceful spa and fitness center, pools, unlimited top-shelf alcohol, and tons of activities.
Zoëtry definitely prioritizes wellness, so there was daily morning yoga or meditation, as well as complimentary water activities like snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. I managed to wake up in time only once for yoga, but we also snorkeled and kayaked together. There were also cooking, mixology, and bracelet making classes on multiple days (which we missed again during our afternoon “siestas” lol), shuttles to shops, and live entertainment during dinner. Every guest also received a complimentary foot massage, which was so fantastic we booked a couples scrub & massage that. was. everything.
Representatives from Amstar were right in the resort lobby, so we were able to easily book an excursion to Dunns River Falls and Mystic Mountain and charge it to our room. I’ll probably write a separate post on must-do activities in Jamaica but these two sites were the perfect way to spend a day away from Zoëtry.
The food and drink options at Zoëtry were absolutely incredible. Every single meal we ate was delicious, and the drinks, chile the drinks. YUM. And never ending. For breakfast, we went to the main restaurant Coyaba, and enjoyed mimosas, ackee and saltfish, pancakes, and eggs. Our last morning, we ordered breakfast to the room and enjoyed our meal on our terrace. For lunch, we either visited Jerky Jo’s, the beachside jerk hut for jerk chicken, jerk pork, and festival or Canoa, the restaurant right next to the pool that had fresh salads, sandwiches, and the tastiest fries I’ve had in awhile. We ate dinner at Coyaba, where Chef Andre and pastry Chef Ricardo personally stopped by our table to make recommendations. My favorite meals were the swordfish during Asian night, the lamb chops, and the entire buffet (curry goat, conch, oxtails, you name it) during the Jamaican night. We also ate at the Polo Restaurant a few times, which was a casual dinner spot with tapas. The tapas were really tasty (the parmesan wings though!!), but the restaurant was always empty and I think would have been better as a late night bar with a TV.
Our Junior Suite Swim Out with an Ocean View was absolutely breathtaking. The canopy style king bed was made up three times a day, our mini bar was continuously stocked with more banana chip snacks than we could finish, and we couldn’t even get through our complimentary bottles of champagne and Appleton rum. The suite contained both a bathtub (that could fit two!) and an expansive shower, plus a separate toilet which I’m always a fan of. If you’re TV obsessed, you’ll probably be disappointed at the TV size, but we didn’t mind because we only used ours as background noise (tehe).
Our suite was on the corner of the building so it also had a cute nook with a view of the pool and deck. And to top it off, our suite opened up to a terrace and access to a swim out pool that we shared with three other neighboring suites (but we actually were always in the water by ourselves).
Zoëtry definitely gave us special honeymoon treatment, starting with a honeymoon sign on our door, flower petals strewn on the bed each night, and my favorite – a warm bath drawn for us with bubbles and flower petals. It was heavenly.
I absolutely LOVED everything about our stay at Zoëtry Wellness and Spa Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Every single staff member was incredibly nice and super accommodating. Our personal butler Tajay even ran down to Jerky Jo’s right before we left to grab us one last bit of jerk chicken! The resort is much smaller than many other hotels we passed in Montego Bay, and the guests were closer to my parent’s age, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for a spring break or turn up kind of trip. But if you want a relaxing, luxurious stay in Montego Bay, Jamaica for a honeymoon, anniversary, or just a special trip, definitely visit Zoëtry.
