Now you know your girl likes to travel, but I’m not – and can never be – one of those women strutting about the airport in four inch heels. You see, I’m often late for everything, including flights (lateness is in my Nigerian blood, I can’t help it!) and I am a habitual sleeper in all moving vehicles, so I need to be incredibly comfortable when I travel. However, I don’t believe in looking bummy in public, so I’m always struggling to find new stylish and comfortable travel outfits, especially in the summertime!
Luckily, right before my weeklong adventure to the South for Dollar General’s A Day of Beauty and to surprise my best friend before she heads off to the Dominican Republic, I received a huge box of goodies from Hanes to wear while traveling. I didn’t even realize Hanes had items besides undergarments, but I was pleasantly surprised to receive quite a few comfortable pieces that can easily ramp up my travel look in a way that screams effortless chic. Here’s how I used some Hanes’ products to style my August travel outfits.
New York – Nashville
On my way to Nashville, I wore a simple black trapeze dress that was breezy enough for the heat, stylish enough to transition to dinner, and comfortable enough to allow me to run a little bit in case I needed to rush through security. There’s no use having a cute and functional dress if you’re strapped up in restricting undergarments, so I paired my look with the Hanes ComfortFlex Fit Get Cozy Seamless Wirefree Bra in White, and the X-TEMP Sport Comfort Hipster. As a small-chested gal, I haven’t had much luck with wirefree bras that don’t make me feel like I’m wearing a training bra for a 12 year old. Hanes’ Cozy Bra gives just enough coverage to keep the pointers in check, but is as comfortable as a camisole or bandeau bra. Win!
Nashville – Houston
My biggest concern on the way to Houston was the heat, so I knew for sure I was going to wear a skirt, and this asymmetrical jersey skirt was the perfect base for my look. Since it was short on one side, and showed off my backside, I needed a relaxed tee to tone the look down, and went with the Hanes Live.Love.Color Scoop Neck T-Shirt in gray and white stripes.
Houston – New York
On the way back home, I wanted to go for a bit more comfort, so I started with Hanes’ Cotton Legging Capris that are a great wardrobe staple. Hanes Classics Men’s Traditional Fit ComfortSoft TAGLESS Ribbed A-Shirt was the perfect layering piece under a loose white tank, so my bra wouldn’t peek through. I topped off both items with a flowy printed kimono and found my way back home!
I’m so glad I got to try Hanes new selections to help my travel outfits remain comfortable and stylish! I can’t wait to continue remixing them with my upcoming travel adventures for the rest of the year.
How do you travel in comfort and style? Would you try any of Hanes new items?
