If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you probably know that I’m partial to using paraben-free hair, skin, and makeup products. So, when Walgreens reached out about their Beauty Enthusiast program, I saw the perfect opportunity to go shopping for some new and trusty favorite paraben-free drugstore beauty products!
The Beauty Enthusiast program is simply a beauty extension of the Walgreens/Duane Reade Balance® Rewards club (you know, that little card you’ve got on your keychain) that rewards you for purchasing fragrances, cosmetics, skin care, hair care, oral care and grooming products. My favorite benefit is that whenever you spend $50 on beauty and personal care*, you earn 5000 points, that’s a $5 reward! The program also comes with a few other #PrettyPerk rewards such as a digital coupon for 20X points when you sign up, a personalized online beauty profile and product picks, special coupons and promotions, as well as beauty tips and tutorials from experts. And, as part of Balance® Rewards, points can be redeemed on almost anything, so you can get more of the things you love. Oh, and it’s free!
So, in the past week, I’ve visited two different Walgreens near me to purchase a couple of old faves and new finds in the skincare and makeup aisles. I split my trips in two because I wanted to earn my $5 reward after spending $50 – and apply it to my next purchase! #hustlesmart In the skincare section, I wanted to try some products from the high-end French beauty brands that Walgreens carries – Vichy Laboratories and La Roche-Posay. I think it is SO cool that you can purchase high quality skincare alongside (ok fine, in the adjacent aisle) as your toothpaste.
I also was in desperate need of a pressed powder that matched my face because my foray with loose powders has left way too many toiletry bags ruined as they get ALL over the place when I travel. The beauty associate at Walgreens helped color match me to two, not one but 2, paraben-free powders: Maybelline Fit Me Set & Smooth Powder in Coconut 355 and Black Radiance Pressed Powder in Bronze Glow!
Here is a video showing all my paraben free beauty purchases and how I plan to use them:
If you currently shop for beauty products at Walgreens, the Beauty Enthusiast program is a perfect way to earn extra rewards for your beauty and personal care* purchases! And if you’re not yet buying beauty products at Walgreens, this might be incentive to start!
I’d love to hear which paraben free drugstore beauty products you like and use, or which you’re hoping to try!
*Every qualifying purchase adds up to the $50 spend requirement. A qualifying purchase includes products from the following categories: fragrances, cosmetics, skin care, hair care, oral care and grooming products. Excludes prescriptions, baby hair care, baby skin care and baby oral care products. The qualifying beauty spend total is calculated before taxes and shipping, and after discounts, redemption dollars and store credit have been applied. I love Walgreens for cosmetics! Some of the ones in NYC are like mini Sephoras! I’ll have to check out the LA ones to see what their selection is like.
Yes girl they are legit beauty stores sometimes!
I guess we think alike lol. I just purchased the Maybelline Color Me Fit foundation and pressed powder. Fortunately, they were on sale buy one get the other half off . I started to purchase the new L’Oréal rose gold glow mask if I am saying it right and it was on sale also. I see that I will be making another run to the store to try some of your favorites. ?
Nice find with the BOGO sale!
