This post is sponsored by Target, but all opinions are always my own!
Last Saturday, for the first time in a long time, I woke up with a genuine smile on my face. Why’s that? Because I wasn’t freezing when I woke up! As spring FINALLY eases it’s way into our lives, I’m excited to partner with Target to share a little bit of my spring and summer style!
Last spring and summer, I was so busy studying for my PhD comprehensive exams, traveling to Atlanta, Nashville, and Nigeria for hair events, balancing work and blogging, and having my fiancé around, I didn’t go to the beach even once! This spring and summer, I plan to actually bask in the light of the sun and NOT miss out on summer activities thanks to these fab swimsuits from Target.
I’m hoping to move to an apartment complex with a pool this summer, so the stripes and flowers combination on this bikini set by Heart and Harmony – which I normally would NEVER wear in a daytime outfit – is perfect for hosting a pool party! Swimwear is the perfect place to experiment with your style – so I’m glad I tried this suit that I wasn’t sure about because it turned out to be my absolute favorite!
One-pieces are having a serious comeback and don’t have to look maternal. Now that I’m engaged I’ll have twice as many family functions to attend this summer, so I have a feeling this one by Xhilaration will become my go-to with its modest front and strappy party in the back! Can’t wait to serve up favorite aunty glam.
When I saw this bright patterned, longline pushup bandeau by Xhilaration, I knew it would perfectly compliment black high-waisted bottoms that I already had to make a swimsuit duo that would be perfect for that time of the month. Yes boos, don’t let your period get in the way of you getting into a swimsuit! Ever since I started using a menstrual cup, I no longer dread my periods, so even when I’m a bit bloated, I can throw on a black high waisted bottom with this bright top and look cute!
You’re probably wondering what the heck NOFOMO means – no fear of missing out. A few weeks ago, I opened up on social media about some of my body issues and exactly why being confident in swimsuits was the perfect way to have NO fear of missing out! One of Target’s goals through it’s swimwear is to provide diverse options, colors, and price points that work for every body. ESPECIALLY YOU! Even though it’s still a bit chilly, it’s a perfect time to buy swimsuits because Target is currently having a buy one, get one 50% off swimwear sale AND you save 20% when you spend $75 on clothes, shoes, & accessories (until 2/27/18)! Plus, Target also offers free shipping and returns, allowing you to shop online, try your purchases at home, and send back whatever doesn’t work. Having searched through their hundreds and hundreds of mix and match two-pieces, coordinated sets, and one-pieces, here are some more that caught my eye:
ooh I love me a good sale. I just booked a trip to Thailand so I need a new swimsuit. Running over to Target.com now. 🙂
Can’t wait to see pics from your trip!
They look good on you, I love the one piece suit.
Thanks for show casing swimsuits for the summer. The 2 piece are really nice but when you have stretch mark and a little pug the one piece come in handy. I’m not saying I want wear one but the high waisted swim bottom is a good cover up. I will look at the prices Target offering on swimsuit since I’m fixing to start a Aqua class. I’m limited to exercise right now due to neck and back issues but I am believing that I can one day regain my health. Thanks KK love the colors of the one piece you modeled.
There are lots of sportier options that would be perfect for your aqua classes! And I have stretch marks and pudge too, but we’re still beautiful! ☺️
