Is it just me or has winter been dragggggggin?! I’m so ready for spring, I’ve started to dress “springy” to encourage it to hurry up and get here! I’m not much of a flower person – both in real life and in my wardrobe – but I’ve been seeing a lot of moody winter florals that have caught my eye. I picked up this black floral print dress a few weeks ago from Family Dollar, and I’m sharing how to wear it in the winter time until it gets warm enough to wear by itself!
Pair with Leather
Since floral prints are super girly, I like to balance them out with the toughness of leather. A chic leather biker jacket is a staple in your wardrobe, and if you don’t have one yet, please rectify that immediately! Mine is waist length, but a cropped leather jacket, or even one with a shearling lining, will keep you warm until the temperatures rise.
Layer on Tights
I went to undergrad in New England, and I remember during the winter we’d go to parties wearing dresses and heels and wonder why we were cold. Tights are crucial under dresses in the winter! Heck, tights are crucial under jeans in the winter. Family Dollar has a variety of tights and leggings to keep your legs warm under dresses, and I prefer black because it’s sleek and slimming.
Add a Boot
I’ve been living in boots all winter, and these black booties are my favorite shoe to wear when I want to dress up. The heel is pretty high so it elongates my legs, and they’re not too uncomfortable. I added some gel insoles to make them super easy to wear.
