How I Add Olay Mists to My Everyday Routine

How I Add Olay Mists to My Everyday Routine

I love a good facial mist. It’s kind of like highlighter – a beauty product that seems unnecessary at first, but once you start using it, you realize you can’t live without it. The Olay team recently sent me the new Olay Mists – Ultimate Hydration Essences in Energizing and Calming and I am HOOKED.

Wait, but what’s an essence? In Japanese and Korean skincare, an essence is a water or gel like formula that is concentrated with active ingredients that target a specific skincare concern like wrinkles or dull skin. You’re supposed to use essences after your toner and before a serum and moisturizer, and they provide a lot of hydration keeping your skin suppler. Olay formulated their mists for literally absolutely any time during the day or night that you want to add moisture to your skin. Both the Olay Energizing and the Calming Mists contain a Vitamin B3 complex (also known as niacinamide) which not only immediately boosts skin hydration, but also strengthens your skin so you can hold onto moisture better in the future. Now that the weather is getting cooler, I’m all for things that can fend off dry skin, so here’s how I’ve been using both mists in my everyday routine.

On days I’m doing a full beat, I like to use the Olay Mist Energizing as a facial setting spray. Now that the weather is a bit cooler I’ve gotten more heavy handed with my foundation and powders, so sometimes when I finish up my routine I can look a bit cakey. Not cute! I’ve had a lot of misses with setting sprays before because they often feel like they’re just sitting on top of my skin. Although this one doesn’t have any makeup staying power benefits, the mist’s vitamin C and bergamot extracts leave my skin feeling refreshed and energized after a heavy beat. And they instantly absorb to your skin so no wet feeling or waving your hands to dry your face! Most importantly, the nozzle actually comes out in a continuous fine mist, rather than a chunky spray (I HATE when a mist is actually a spray!).

On no makeup days, I use the Olay Mist Calming as part of my skincare routine. Since I have a bit of extra time to spend on skincare, I add in the spray right after using my cleanser and toner. I then pat it in and follow up with my Vitamin C serum, sunscreen, and moisturizer. The Olay Calming Mist contains aloe leaf and chamomile that hydrate and calm dry, tight skin, so it’s great for using while you’re at home and your skin is being dried out by the radiator. Or on a flight with recycled air. Typing this out makes me realize I need to share my updated skincare routine, but I will say the combination of products I’ve been using have kept my usually dry skin super soft so far!

In summary, I have really been loving using both the Energizing and Calming Mists in my upgraded Olay skin care routines. Not only are they full of ingredients that help hydrate and restore my skin, the packaging is so pretty and elevated, you’ll be surprised to know they’re super affordable and available at Target!

  1. I can’t keep up with you. I love that you are having more sponsorships. I can say one thing about the cooler weather is that I don’t get so oily.
