As promised, I’m sharing all the different looks I wore on my recent trip to Paris! It was my first time at Paris Fashion Week, and I had a lot of time to plan out my looks (unlike for NYFW where I threw things together). For Paris, I wanted to create looks around current trends, but infuse my own style into them! I also wanted to push myself a bit outside of my comfort zone – because there was no point in flying all the way to Paris just to wear the same things I wear over here! Here are all my Paris Fashion Week outfits.
I’ll do a separate blog post on how I plan and shoot outfits, but for the sake of brevity, I usually plan my outfits ahead of time and make a collage for each look, drawing inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest! I’ll include the collages for each look as well as my final look.
PFW Look 1: Parisian Dress Over Jeans
If you’ve followed my style for a while, you know that I don’t often wear prints, unless it’s African print. But polka dots are in style and I think they’re a simple enough print to incorporate into my closet! I challenged myself to style this NakdFashion polka dot dress with a classic pair of high waisted jeans (which btw, everyone needs in their closet!). I’ve been feeling the color red lately, so I accessorized with red kitten heel booties and red sunglasses! It was a bit chilly so I layered a black turtleneck underneath the dress, and topped the whole look off with a beret!

PFW Look 2: Monochrome Menswear
Feminine suits are having a huge moment right now, and one of my favorite iterations is the checked suit! I had a check blazer from Express from this project a few months ago, and was pleasantly surprised to see that the matching pants were still in stock! I thought about wearing the suit with a white turtleneck, but I decided to do a 50 Shades of Grey look (ha!) instead. This ruffle sleeve sweater is old and from Zara, but my coat is from Asos and is my 2nd favorite coat I’ve bought this season. I finished off the look with net socks and classic white sneakers, because #farshun is doing things you normally wouldn’t do!

PFW Look 3: 90s Sporty Chic
So 90s style is making a comeback, with chunky dad shoes, Doc Martens, and crop tops all having a moment. I drew inspiration for this look from Aaliyah, who made sagging look sexy! I’ve talked about my efforts to photograph this Calvin Klein set before, so this time I wore it with one of my favorite pair of Express jeans, a white Zara blazer, white Kenneth Cole boots, and a navy BA&SH coat! It took a lot of body confidence to rock this look, and I’ll admit, I kept pulling the top down and the bottom up, and I’m really proud of myself for pulling it off!

Modern Cotton Bralette & Tanga / $28 each
PFW Look 4: In the Trenches
You guys know I love a sleeveless coat – I wear this one all the time! When I saw this sleeveless trench on Instagram (Target’s IG ads got me), I HAD to have it. I didn’t want to wear a coat, so I paired it with a furry sleeves sweater that I otherwise would probably never wear. The most exciting aspect of this look were my pearl socks! I love that socks are becoming interesting again, and these ones were a cute accessory to add some interest to my look. I wish I had a belt bag to finish this off, but I’m trying to restrain my purse purchases!

I would never have thought to put a dress over jeans; so cute!!!
I never thought to do it either, Pinterest inspired me!
In love with the red boots! The pop of color really pulls the outfit together.
Agreed! I usually don’t wear color but these booties are perfect!
Love love love! Especially the suit! It’s such a statement of power, love to see strong women making strong choices!
I agree!! I love the women in suits movement going on right now
Absolutely in love with the Monochrome Menswear look on you, the grey is so flattering on you and the whole look pulls together so well. Also loving the sporty chick outfit, Calvin’s are always always a look.
Thanks so much!! I was nervous about the Calvins look but I’m glad I had the courage to rock it!
Love the black and denim theme especially!
Thank you Jenny!!
I am a huge fan of the polkda dot dress with jeans and the red boots! Such a bright and bold outfit- I will definitely be looking into getting my own pair of classic high waisted jeans.
Thanks so much!
I’m really digging the fitted suit look! A lot of potential with stylizing it with different layers for a multitude of different occasions.
Exactly! I’ve worn it with a turtleneck too, but it could work nicely with a lacy top and heels. So versatile!
Currently I’m in love with the sporty chic dressed up look! Especially since it helps with my love of crop tops.
Definitely, it’s now crop top season!
My favorite is the polka dot dress over the jeans. It gave a retro Paris look and the red sock booties just topped it off. The red sunnies and beret. It look like something Elizabeth Taylor would wear if she wear visiting or the diva Diana Carroll. My second would be the 50 shade of gray. All of your picks were nice for Paris fashion week.
Thanks so much Charlotte!
