Although spring started last week, I haven’t had the chance to wear many spring looks since my days have been spent either exercising, doing seating charts, or making random last minute wedding decisions (how should we setup the favors? who is picking up Aunty from her hotel? which cousin should do the first reading? etc). Goodness I cannot wait for life post wedding when my biggest decisions involve what to order for brunch or what to watch on Netflix! Also when I can get back into my regular posting schedule because I feel like I’ve been so erratic!
Anyway, I am loving a couple of this season’s spring trends (frayed hem denim, stripes, etc), and am showing you my favorite one today: spring statement sleeves.
Statement sleeves are HUGE this season, and the perfect way to elevate an otherwise simple outfit. Bell sleeves have carried over from the fall, but ruffles, fringe, tassels, slits, ties, and embroidery are all showing up on sleeves this spring and I’m here for all of it.

I typically hate wrap style tops because I have small boobs so the neckline draws attention to the nothingness that is there, but the sleeves on this top + the huge bow actually draw the eyes away from my chest and to my newly svelte waistline (I’m down 8 pounds in 2 months, will have to share my fitness journey with you!). Plus this shade of green is on Pantone’s Spring 2017 fashion color report so I am totally on trend.
I paired the top with my new favorite high waisted jeans (though they’re now a tinge too big for me :/), a metallic tassel clutch, and a throwback pair of sequin heels that I wore 5 years ago at my college graduation party. I definitely could have rocked this look with my white Stan Smiths for a more casual ‘fit.

Here are some more spring statement sleeves I’m currently digging:
P.S. I’ll be taking off from the blog for a few weeks post wedding as I go on my honeymoon and transition to married life! Just wanted to give you a heads up!
I like the look. I kinda miss dressing up (or down). The color of the top looks really good on you, and I like the sandals, even though wearing heels are a no-can-do for me anymore.
Enjoy your post-wedding blog break! I didn’t take more than a week then, but it’s totally necessary to just log off for a while. We’ll be here when you get back 🙂
Spring has sprung among us. The top with the bell sleeves is cute. I have noticed Chic wish has some nice tops. I so happy that your big day will be here soon
