Happy first day of spring! It certainly doesn’t feel like spring in NYC, but my blogger boo Krystal said if we start dressing like it’s spring, it’ll come sooner. I doubt that’s true, but I’m going to do my part anyway! I have a photoshoot coming up this weekend so I just took advantage of Shopbop’s sale and did a bit of spring trend shopping! You probably know by now that I like wearing black, white, and blue, but this spring I’m going to be doing a lot of pattern play with my spring style obsessions: checks, stripes, and polka dots!
Between plaid suiting and gingham everything, I’m definitely here for checked and checkered prints this spring. I’ve been trying to incorporate more skirts into my wardrobe, and I’m looking forward to copying the way Twice Blessed styles their skirts with blazers. I really hope this skirt I bought isn’t too short cuz it was only $17!
I’ve always been a fan of horizontal stripes, but I’m currently digging vertical stripes as well. I’ve got my eyes on this sleeveless striped knit dress, but I’m going to borrow it from Rent the Runway before deciding whether to buy. I love how sweater dresses hug my curves but give me room to breathe, and this one is a tank so I think it will be seasonally appropriate!
Between the polka dot dress I wore in Paris and this top I’ve worn about 10 times since getting it last month, I can definitely say polka dots are my favorite spring pattern. You’d think those two pieces were enough for me but I’m kinda digging the idea of a pair of polka dot slingbacks. Too much? Probably. Will that stop me? Probably not.
I’m loving the stripes with cutouts for spring! I bought one deconstructed dress from my sister I wore it everywhere last summer. And amen to Polka dots!!!!
New Fan and follower btw ??♀️❤️
Thanks for joining us girl!
In Georgia, the weather was definitely spring weather. I like the choices you picked out.
So jealous, we’re still waiting on spring in NYC!
I’m feeling all the trends. I reserve plaids for the workplace. ?
They definitely work at work lol!
