Two fashion posts in a week, what’s good?! Don’t worry, I have a couple of wedding, hair, and beauty posts lined up for the coming weeks. Speaking of the wedding, I feel like being married has slightly changed my outlook on style. In addition to sharing closet space, I now think a lot more about the future than I used to. Although it’s fun to wear all the latest fashion trends, I now thinks its more important to buy pieces that will be around for years. I mean paperbag pants are cool and all, but in 2 years, they probably won’t be around and I would hate to have spent money on a pair that won’t get much wear. Here are a few timeless fall fashion trends that I think will be in style for years to come.

Gold Statement Earrings
I went through a phase in college where I bought the biggest earrings I could find. I’m pretty sure this lined up with the time I cut off my relaxer, so it was partly because I wanted to look more feminine. Regardless of the reason, there were TONS of large gold earrings for me to choose from. Today, bold statement earrings are back, and gold and tassel details are reigning supreme. I think a geometric statement earring will be fashionable for much longer than tassel, so if you’re debating between the two, buy a gold statement earring!
Check Blazers
Menswear is always in style in some capacity, and oversized check blazers are the current it layer for fall. They’re super easy to wear with jeans and a tee, but when it gets cooler I see myself rocking them with cozy knit turtlenecks. For a more feminine outfit, I’d wear a lacey top and drape a blazer over my shoulders for a bit of warmth.
Velvet Accessories
Textures are a fun way to make your outfit interesting, especially if you’re like me and often wear neutrals. Unlike velvet tops and skirts, velvet shoes and bags are a perfect way to incorporate the fabric into an outfit without being overwhelming. I especially love velvet boots and slides, but I’ve seen velvet purses spice up an outfit too!
You are definitely rocking the fall trend. The blazer and earring are my favorite. I haven’t start wearing fall items just yet. Right now, I am enjoying the leisure of resting at home or visiting my grandson. I have some style that I am planning on wearing. J Crew is one of my favorite store to shop.
Hopefully it’s fall weather down South by now!
