Five Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine’s Day is one of those hit or miss holidays – some people absolutely love it, while others dread it. In recent years, there’s been a rising trend of celebrating your girlfriends around Valentine’s Day – or Galentine’s Day, as it’s now called – so you don’t have to be married or in a relationship to enjoy the holiday! Whether you have a hot date, you’re kicking it with your girls, or you’re just spending some quality time with yourself, here are some Valentine’s Day outfit ideas!

Valentine’s Day Outfit for Fancy Dinner Out

Long red formal dress perfect for Valentine's Day or a winter wedding

Since Valentine’s Day sometimes leads into President’s Day weekend (for my US readers), it’s a perfect time for a vacation or staycation. If you’re traveling and need a dressy fancy dinner dress, this one is very warm and forgiving on the body. So go ahead and order the chocolate dessert. You deserve it boo!

Galentine’s Brunch

If you’re going to be kicking it with the girls and just want a casual but cute outfit, consider wearing an ankara or fun floral print dress in a shift, swing, or a line cut. Those shapes are super flattering and will fit your eggs benedict and red velvet pancakes brunch order!

Netflix & Chill

Old Navy striped leggings and sports bra, Cece Olisa and Ijeoma Kola

If you’re taking Jonathan’s advice and staying indoors this Valentine’s Day, bring some festivity into your loungewear with a pair of red leggings and a fun sweatshirt. You’ll be warm and cozy so you can go from couch to fridge (or to phone to order UberEats) without any problems.

Don’t know what to binge watch? My current recommendations include Messiah, The Circle, Grace & Frankie, and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!

Hitting the Club

If you’re planning on going out for Valentine’s Day, do so in a lacy deep red bodysuit and high waisted jeans. Throw on a blazer (white ones are so underrated!) or faux leather jacket, and wear your comfiest heels to dance the night away!

Casual Daytime Date

Maybe you have a new Valentine or budding bae, and you’re planning on hanging out during the day to take the pressure off of a fancy or formal dinner date. A pale pink off the shoulder top and comfortable denim is the perfect daytime combo. Travel light with a croc mini bag and geometric heels.

  1. Great ideas! I really love the red dress from ASOS. The price is actually a steal for the item. I’m not doing anything fancy for Valentine’s Day. Scratch that, I might change my mind. As you know anything is possible. I were just checking out Lulus website which they’re having a sale on some items. Your girl may find something to wear because I know for sure that I’m staying warm inside. I don’t have time for this cold weather.

  2. My favorite are palozza pants, cut out jumpsuit and ruffle pencil skirts. Actually, I love all the outfit that you wore. I got to get back on my A sexy game of dressing up. I haven’t been feeling like it lately but I truly enjoyed others bloggers and IG dress up for V Day. You look lovely in all 5 picks. I pray that you and Johnathon have a bless Valentines Day and I’m sure that you will love the movie.
