If you aren’t rolling your eyes because I used the extra corny “orange you glad” as my title for this post, you’re probably rolling them because I promised last year to do more outfit posts (by request), and haven’t done a real one since June. And if none of those things flustered you, you’re probably mad because I’m taking photos with no coat on while much of the East Coast is covered in over 2 feet of snow.
My bad girl.
The thing is I’ve been “stuck” in California – okay, I gladly extended my visit by a week – due to storm Jonas. I originally planned to stay just through MLK weekend, but once I heard New York was finna be buried under snow and JetBlue was allowing free itinerary changes, it took me .004 seconds to decide to spend a few more days with Bae in the Bay area (see what I did there? ?).

The star of this orange outfit – and really everything I’ve worn in the past few weeks – is this orange waistcoat that I purchased at the Zara semi-annual sale. I’ve professed my love for Zara before, and I have been wanting one of these sleeveless coats for a while, so I was happy to find this one in what I have now realized is my power color. Don’t believe me? I have another orange dress that I wear ALL THE TIME and magically feel bright and optimistic, and an orange blazer that makes me feel fashionable and professional at the same time.
Though I’ve worn the coat a few ways, my favorite is to let it shine on it’s own on top of an all black outfit. By choosing a funky nude pair of flats, my outfit doesn’t end up looking too Halloween-y, and instead serves as a perfect fall or spring transitory look (or a winter look in California :D). The shoes and the lightweight knit sweater are also from the Zara winter sale – I’m thinking of doing a YouTube haul video showing all my finds because I really stocked up!
P.S. I love these shots that show the texture and color of my Curlkalon crochet braids! I’ll have an update next week on how I’ve been keeping them looking fresh and neat.
Love the outfit especially the vest coat. I been looking for one of these coat but if I find one my size is out of stock. Love it the color orange and glad you got some sunshine.
